NOTE: Version 0.67 is not in prime time form yet and version 0.66 is still the one being served by the main installation page. There is a release candidate available to testing and you are free to install it, but please only do so if you are comfortable testing new software. If you don't know what version to install, please visit http://mindstorm360.com/swaksmack.
Version 0.67 has lots of new stuff in it so feel free to play around with things and see how you like it.

Well RC4 is really another RC1 based on how much things have changed under the covers. As such, please be on the lookout for debug messages and alert popups that I used to help test some of the code paths. I think I've got it cleaned up, but as the extension grows, so does the probability that I miss something. So based on that warning, this is really more like a 'beta' than a RC at this point.
SwakSmack 0.66 has been released. Install and see screenshots from http://mindstorm360.com/swaksmack
NOTE to Mac Users: it appears that the options dialog is not displaying correctly on the mac platform. Unfortunately, I do not have a mac to test on so hopefully another mac user or two can help out in that area. The Options display correctly on Windows and Linux (ubuntu and suse tested)
As with any release of SwakSmack, especially with new features, there are bound to be some issues. Please PM me with any problems, comments, or suggestions.
Version 0.66 is almost ready, however; due to all the changes, I want to do a release candidate or two to make sure it is mostly working before issuing an update to 0.65. If you know your way around FireFox and extension, please feel free to download, install and try it.
If you have any problems installing or using it, please PM me http://www.jellyfish.com/shoppers/mindstorm

List of SOME of the changes (I can't remember them all)
1. More url/link updates/fixes
2. User selectable audio file
In version 0.65.1, I've added the ability to disable the Women of Smack calendar promo image. This is something I am helping to promote for just a limited time, but I'd like your smacking experience to be the way you want it, and many of you may want it without the promotion image. The instructions below with direct you through the steps to remove the promotion.
1. Download/install version 0.65.1
2. Restart FireFox after installing 0.65.1
3. Open FireFox
4. In the address bar enter 'about:config' (just enter about:config, not the apostrophes ) and press enter
0.65 is another proof of concept (POC) release that will evolve based on user feedback. Two new things added:
Note: 0.65.1 has added the ability to disable the WoS promo calendar image. See http://mindstorm360.com/wosdisable for detailed instructions,
1. Chat Pause and Resume (please read before using)
It really is more of a delay and resume in that pausing the chat will delay any new chat posts from appearing for 60 seconds.
To pause, double click in the 'talk'n smack' area. You know you were sucessful when you see the following:
0.64 is out and is mostly minor updates with hopefully a working and reliable guru guess alert. I also added an ignore list in 0.64 where you can added the usernames (comma separated) of people you do not want to see in chat. There were a few people in smack over the weekend that convinced me that this can be a useful feature. Initially, I figured that people could/would just mute trolls, but even with them muted, their empty posts still disrupts the chat. Once they are on the ignore list, their posts are hidden (muted posts and all).
0.63 has been released for testing. There are a couple of big changes in this release; some visible and many under the covers.
Alert Popups
The old alert windows have been replaced with custom popups. There are some pluses and minuses to this approach.
Pluses
Minuses
Well the first cut at audio alerts are in SwakSmack v0.62 courtesy filet0fish. As with any new feature, it will continue to mature, but your feedback and suggestions are welcomed.
Great job filet
UPDATE: Well I did get 0.60 out and it was a bomb as far as I was concerned in two major areas:
1. Chat underlining/individual keyword highlighting was broken for numbers
2. Multiple alert suppression is going to make a little bit more work than than my Id10T fix
I got those issue 1 fixed (for now I hope) and reverted the alerts back to their 0.59 roots although I could not test all alert possibilities. So if you installed 0.60, thanks for testing and giving me the feedback I needed and now please install 0.61.
