0.66 RC3 for test

Version 0.66 is almost ready, however; due to all the changes, I want to do a release candidate or two to make sure it is mostly working before issuing an update to 0.65. If you know your way around FireFox and extension, please feel free to download, install and try it.

If you have any problems installing or using it, please PM me http://www.jellyfish.com/shoppers/mindstorm

Download 0.66RC3 here: http://mindstorm360.com/files/swaksmack-0.66RC3.xpi

List of SOME of the changes (I can't remember them all)
1. More url/link updates/fixes
2. User selectable audio file

Updated: Version 0.65.1 Released

0.65 is another proof of concept (POC) release that will evolve based on user feedback. Two new things added:

Note: 0.65.1 has added the ability to disable the WoS promo calendar image. See http://mindstorm360.com/wosdisable for detailed instructions,

1. Chat Pause and Resume (please read before using)
It really is more of a delay and resume in that pausing the chat will delay any new chat posts from appearing for 60 seconds.

To pause, double click in the 'talk'n smack' area. You know you were sucessful when you see the following:

0.64 update, the ignore list

0.64 is out and is mostly minor updates with hopefully a working and reliable guru guess alert. I also added an ignore list in 0.64 where you can added the usernames (comma separated) of people you do not want to see in chat. There were a few people in smack over the weekend that convinced me that this can be a useful feature. Initially, I figured that people could/would just mute trolls, but even with them muted, their empty posts still disrupts the chat. Once they are on the ignore list, their posts are hidden (muted posts and all).

0.63 Tagged and Released

0.63 has been released for testing. There are a couple of big changes in this release; some visible and many under the covers.

Alert Popups
The old alert windows have been replaced with custom popups. There are some pluses and minuses to this approach.

Pluses

  • No more multiple alert windows
  • Automatic closing of alert windows
  • Ability to have more content and custom styles
  • Windows are non modal

Minuses

  • Can't use the easy javascript alerts
  • Windows are non modal

0.62 Release: The Smack is Alive....with the sound of music

Well the first cut at audio alerts are in SwakSmack v0.62 courtesy filet0fish. As with any new feature, it will continue to mature, but your feedback and suggestions are welcomed.

Great job filet

0.61 Release (was The Upcoming 0.60 Release)

UPDATE: Well I did get 0.60 out and it was a bomb as far as I was concerned in two major areas:
1. Chat underlining/individual keyword highlighting was broken for numbers
2. Multiple alert suppression is going to make a little bit more work than than my Id10T fix

I got those issue 1 fixed (for now I hope) and reverted the alerts back to their 0.59 roots although I could not test all alert possibilities. So if you installed 0.60, thanks for testing and giving me the feedback I needed and now please install 0.61.

Smack Hero of the Day (July 31, 2007)

We got Smack Hero of the Day recognition for the SwakSmack Jellyfish FireFox extension. It only mentions seventoes and me, but there are others who are or have been a big part of SwakSmack.

SwakSmack 0.59 Released

Well 0.59 is up and ready for download/test.

Download from here

Major Things To Note
Auto TinyURL conversion
1. url must begin with http://
2. can be disabled in options
3. Default Threshold length before converting to a tinyurl is 35 chars. This number includes the 'http://'. Feel free to change this number to whatever fits your style

Outwit Randomizer Guesser

SwakSmack 0.59 - more features and more bug fixes

Release 0.59 is getting pretty close for public testing (another day or so I hope). filet0fish added a outwit guess randomizer to the outwit vote reminder alert box so for those of you who can't pick a number between 1 and 6, this will do it for you (and no, there are no warranties or guarantees that the supplied guess is a guaranteed "winner")

Code up on Google Code

I've never used google code, but this is as good of time as any to give it a try. The SwakSmack project can be found here: swaksmack.googlecode.com. I haven't setup any other project members yet, but if you are interested in being a member, send an email to binary10+swaksmack@gmail.com. Anybody can access the project source at http://code.google.com/p/swaksmack/source (or at least should be able to access it)
